Good News Story - Abandoned Motorcycle - Smallford Railway Station |
||
|
Dear Resident
On Tuesday 20th January 2026, a member of public reported seeing an abandoned Piaggio Liberty moped in the vicinity of Smallford Railway Station in St Albans. Officers have attended Smallford Railway Station and have recovered the moped, which had the ignition barrel tampered with and was not displaying a numberplate.
Our initial enquiries have confirmed that the Piaggio Liberty moped had been stolen from Bedfordshire last year and we are attempting to reunite this moped with the owner.
It is important that any suspicious behaviour involving parked vehicles is reported to the police at the earliest opportunity. Individuals examining vehicles closely or attempting door handles may be preparing to commit crime. Prompt reporting enables us to respond quickly, gather information and prevent offences from occurring. Your vigilance helps protect property and supports wider efforts to reduce vehicle crime within the community.
Tips to Prevent Motorcycle Crime:
Keep documentation, photos, and frame numbers recorded for quick reporting if stolen.
If you need to report a crime please call 101 or go online here.
